Town Hall Level 6 Strategy

Before reading about Town Hall Level 6, you should consider reading farming vs trophy hunting as this will help you determine the top of base you want to go for.

Generally, Town Hall Level 6 is when many people start maxing out their defenses before moving onto the next Town Hall. If you decide not to max in Town Hall 6, I strongly suggest that you start maxing out your defenses in Town Hall 7 at the latest.

What do I mean by maxing out? I will list the max level for each defense below. These should be what you are aiming for before upgrading the Town Hall to level 7. If you don't know why you should be maxing out your base before upgrading the Town Hall, please refer to my post about loot penalties.

Now that we know what the max level is for our defenses, lets see what we should focus on offensively.

Now that we have and end goal in mind for Town Hall 6, lets discuss base layouts. By now you should know whether you are wanting to have a farming layout or a trophy layout. I highly advise you go for a farming layout at Town Hall 6 (unless your clan is temporarily doing a trophy hunt).

Town Hall 6 Trophy Base

Please note that, although this base is decent for a Town Hall 6, there are a few things I would change.

First, this base was prior to the wallbreaker AI update, so I would get rid of the extra walls on the end of each area and make use of them elsewhere.

Second, typically you want your wizard towers to be within distance of 2 resource storages. Typically you want it to be next to one gold storage and one elixir storage. This really helps against mass goblin attacks.

Also note that this base could be easily modified to be a farming base by moving the Town Hall outside of the core segment and then using the extra walls to segment off some of the defenses and storages.

The base above is not ready to upgrade to Town Hall 7. It still needs to upgrade the Wizard Towers, Archer Towers, and Air Defense (Air Defense isn't necessarily important until you hit 1700+ trophies, but you will be thankful that you upgraded it along the way rather than letting it sit until Town Hall level 8).

 Town Hall 6 Farming Base

 As you can see, a lot of the base still needs upgrading. But the important thing here is that the Wizard Towers are both within striking distance of the resource storages.

The Air Defense in the middle isn't necessarily important (at least not at Town Hall 6) and can be switched out with the Clan Castle (which I strongly advise).


If you are close to maxing out your Town Hall 6, I advise you to read ahead for Town Hall 7.
